SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

Nelson Hollar Memorial Scholarship Program

Circa 1993-94, brought the initial scholarship initiative to NC FOP Lodge 10. From its simple beginning, it has grown and developed into a highly successful program.

The first fund raising campaign in support of the program was a golf tournament that was held at the Lakewood Golf Club in Statesville. The event was held in honor, and in the memory of Statesville PD’s first K-9 officer, Nelson Hollar, who had passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

Because of its growing success, in 2001-02, a committee was formed to refine and administer the program, as we see it today. New criteria was established to give the opportunity for a wider recipient base. Virtually all members of the lodge and their families are given priority. In addition, all seniors at our local high schools are encouraged to participate in the selection process.

PLEASE SUPPORT THE NELSON HOLLAR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM WITH YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT.
