Remembering Sully

On Thursday, January 9, 2020 our lodge lost one very special person, Lawrence Emmet Sullivan Jr.

Known to all of us as Sully, he embodied the true meaning of FRATERNITY. His dedication to the community and his fellow officers started in New York with his service in several law enforcement and volunteer agencies.

Upon his retirement as a lieutenant at the New York State Courts, Sully relocated his family to Troutman, North Carolina. He transferred his FOP membership to Iredell County Lodge #10.

It didn’t take long before he became a very active member, becoming Chaplain and then taking over as the lodge secretary. His large frame equaled his dedication to the responsibilities he accepted and was always paramount in his mind.

Sully worked tirelessly on many lodge activities. One of the most ambitious undertakings he worked on was the development of the Law Enforcement Memorial located at the lodge. He accepted his role and brought the project to a very special conclusion.

We, the executive board and the members of Iredell County Lodge #10 extend our sincere condolences to Sully’s wife Christine, his sons Michael and Robby, Robby’s wife Natalie, and granddaughter Cecilia.

Sully, your service and dedication will always be a guide to all of us serving our lodge. Go, our good and faithful servant. You have earned your reward in Heaven. Peace be with you. REST IN PEACE.
