As the lodge prepares for our annual memorial service to honor those officers who have died in the line of duty, it is our responsibility to acknowledge those who have contributed their time, talent, and treasure to make our lodges memorial monument a solemn place, where we can all reflect on the sacrifice that was made by those, whose names are engraved on the granite panels.
A special thank you, to President Rodney James, 1st Vice President Tommy Chipman, and Treasurer Tom Gallo for all they have accomplished in making the monument a place that we can all be proud of.
The work was completed with the assistance of twenty-five members and leaders of the Iredell County 4-H clubs. These volunteers devoted many hours to assist the lodge in this worthwhile project. Pulling weeds, planting flowers and plants, and spreading mulch were only a few of the many tasks these young people were able to complete. It must have been an enlightening experience for these young people listening to Rodney’s soft gentle voice as he directed these wonderful young people, as they labored with their work.
Of course in true lodge tradition, a great meal was prepared for all those in attendance. Don’t forget the date. May 17, 2018. The memorial service is scheduled to start at 10:00am, rain or shine. More information will be posted on the web page as we get closer to the date.
